CFDA Awards: Marc Wins Womenswear!

Marc Jacobs won CFDA’s biggest trophy for top womenswear designer, beating out the popular new kid, Alex Wang. The big emotional moment of the evening was said to come with a special tribute to Alex McQueen, as presented by Sarah Jessica Parker. The tribute included the presentation of his final collection for fall 2010.

Other winners included David Neville & Marcus Wainwright of Rag & Bone for menswear, Alexis Bittar for accessories, Christopher Bailey for Burberry for the international award, Tonne Goodman, Vogue fashion director for visuals, Kim Hastreiter, editor and publisher of Paper magazine for fashion journalism and Ralph Lauren for the popular vote award, chosen by the public in an online poll. Model and the breathing embodiment of chic, Iman, was awarded the fashion icon award and designer and funny man, Michael Kors, received a standing ovation for his lifetime achievement award.

More images of the winners and nominees after the flip, including hotty Alexis Bittar, Chris Bailey, Kim Hastreiter (sporting an hysterical “OMG” necklace), Michael Kors, Jason Wu and Alex Wang.
